AKRacing has been manufacturing quality gaming chairs for years already and the AKRacing AK-K7012 Gaming Chair makes no exception. Although not entirely similar to the AKRacing Premium I have previously reviewed, this model remains a great choice for avid gamers who like spending hours, even days playing their games.
With the most vibrant and visually appealing combination of black and blue, the AKRacing AK-K7012 Gaming Chair looks definitely impressive, and it certainly is a great improvement from those ugly red-and-black models that are so widely popular on the market.
Let’s take a closer look at the AKRacing Gaming Chair review below.

Pros
The one thing that I really like about the design of the AKRacing AK-K7012 Gaming Chair is the combination of black and blue, which are quite striking to the eye – just as I’d expect from a quality gaming chair. Unlike the AKRacing Premium Gaming Chair, the AK-K7012 is upholstered with fabric instead of PU leather, which in my opinion is better in some respects.
Damage to the fabric is less visible given that it’s not as thick and solid as is PU leather. Toby punctured the fabric, but the damage was nearly invisible – which is a big plus for cat owners.
Easy to Build
Assembly was simpler than I’ve initially figured out, as the washers and screws were all pre-threaded in their place to simplify the process.
I needed about 10 minutes to have the chair fully put together – and if you’re still having troubles with the assembly, the instructions that ship with the AKRacing AK-K7012 Gaming Chair are very easy to follow, as they come with images that make the each step visual.
Comfort
As for comfort, I was surprised at how plush the foam padding of the seat and backrest was. The two cushions included with the chair made the whole unit even more comfortable, providing proper support to both my lower back and neck to prevent pain and ensuring that the position of my spine was correct while I was seated.
The armrests, seat height and backrest angle are all adjustable, so you can successfully modify the position of the chair based on your very own needs. The seat is spacious enough for most gamers
– I’m rather thin and I have no troubles sitting on the chair along with Toby in the back of the seat, and I suspect that even individuals with weight issues will find it very comfortable.
I squirmed for a different position after about seven hours of gaming – not as impressive as the AKRacing Premium chair, but still a lot better than some other models I was unfortunate enough to try. The wheels are made of durable plastic and they roll smoothly on most surfaces, although they seem to have a hard time transitioning from bare floors to carpets or rugs.
Cons
Occasional clean-up is needed to maintain the chair, but unfortunately, the AKRacing AK-K7012 Gaming Chair is a lot more difficult to clean than I expected. PU leather is naturally easier to clean since the surface is non-porous and doesn’t absorb spilt liquids. It would be enough to use just a damp cloth to remove dirt and debris, but that’s not the case with the AK-K7012.
I needed to have my chair washed by a carpet cleaning company, as I just couldn’t handle the job myself. Not to mention that the chair needed a whole day of staying in the sun to be fully dry.
Another aspect I find quite disappointing is the lack of padding on the armrests, which can make your elbows really painful after a while of sitting. I had to wait another hour before I could get back to gaming – my elbows were really painful, red, and I squirmed every time I touched them.
Final Word
Definitely a little inferior to the AKRacing Premium, the AKRacing AK-K7012 Gaming Chair remains a great choice if you want a comfortable gaming chair that’s also easy to use and isn’t hard to put together. The £199.99 price tag may be quite expensive for many gamers, but it certainly is one of the best investments you can make if you want your gaming experience to be amazing.
